Lake: Sakwite Lake

Dates: 8/15 - 8/21/2015

Group Name: Askew

Guest Comments: The smallmouth bass fishing was outstanding, with both numbers of fish and big fish. My wife caught more bass in six days than she had caught in the rest of her life combined. She also caught a bass over four pounds. ( we caught numerous three pounders)The pike slowed down due to a cold front and were in deeper water rather than at the back of the coves in the weeds, but we still caught some big ones.
Walleye fishing was very slow with my wife and I combining for a total of ten.
On the smallmouths, moving water and neckdowns and small rocky islands adjacent to deep water were the key patterns.
Leeches on Lindy rigs, curly tail grubs and topwater lures produced best for us. (silver spoons for pike)
Cabin, boats and motors and all other equipment and appliances worked well.
 Good well-run operation.

Lake: Highrock Lake

Dates: 8/8 - 8/15/2015

Guest Comments: 5 dads and 6 kids had a great week of swimming, fishing, and stand up paddle boarding on Highrock Lake. Surface water temps were 67 degrees when we arrived and 81 degrees when we left. We caught lots of big bass, walleye, and pike. The bright hot days made fishing slow during the heat of the day, but was always good early and late. Hot lures were tiny torpedos and shutter pops for smallmouth early and late big spinner baits for pike, and crawler spinner rigs for walleye and jigs with a twister tail and crawler for walleye.

Group Name: Topham

Guest Comments: Group of 6, 8 day trip. Walleye fishing was very good. Lots & lots of good fish. Several keeper size and many over. Largest walleye pushing 30". Smallmouth fishing did not produce great #'s, but what were caught were huge in size. Lots of "footballs" flying out of the lake doing summersaults. Northern fishing was good as well. Many pushing the 40" mark. Camp set up was very nice. We are all going home with huge biceps from all the weeks challenges. Only disappointment was that we did not see sasquatch. But, we do believe we heard him scream/yodel just North-West of the cabin. New Beech plane was very nice and the pilot/ride were on time & very smooth. Once again fishing was colour!!!

Lake: Pipestone Lake

Dates: 6/20 - 6/24/2015

Group Name: Stieren

Guest Comments: Walleye was generally slow until 8:45 PM. We could pull out 2 or 3 a night between the mainland peninsula and the island on the way to Thompson Bay. Northerns were very easy to catch by either trolling, spoons, lindy rigs, or Eerie Deeries around the hump (it is explained in the journal). Smallies and perch were scattered all around the place. The only 2 muskies were caught trolling red and white spoons(Dare-Devils). Most of the walleye were caught by jigging leeches in about 17' of water. All in all the fishing was good and really makes us want to come back again soon.

Lake: Fishtrap Lake

Dates: 6/3 - 6/7/2015

Group Name: Camp

Guest Comments:

Day 1: Started fishing around 11:00AM. It was and we fished behind the cabin. We used Zara Spooks Jr top water lures. The pike loved them! Came out of the water for them and fought all the way to the boat. Caught a lot in the 15-20" range. A couple in the 30" range.

Day 2: Started fishing after breakfast around 9:00 AM. Headed South on the lake in pursuit of Smallmouth Bass. Caught quite a few. All in the 15-18 range and fat!

Day 3: This was the nicest day weather wise, clear and sunny. Too sunny. Fishing was very slow. The evening however was great. Really picked up starting around 6:00 PM. Fished til 9:30 PM. I caught at least 50 SM all on surface (Rapala Firetiger Skitter pop #7) with my ultra light spinning rod.

Day 4: Another sunny day. Windy too. We looked for shady areas out of the wind and did pretty well. Caught NP and SMB. Was looking forward to another great night of fishing but the weather did not cooperate. Rain and wind.

All in all was a great trip. There were 5 of us. We all caught fish. Days we caught 30, 40 fish each - some times more - some less.

Cabin and boats/motors were the best we have ever had. Everything was clean and worked flawlessly.

My rating is 2 thumbs up!
