Our remote fly in outpost cabin on Sakwite Lake is centrally located on the lake. This stained water lake is 4-5 miles long and 1-1 1/2 miles wide. Sakwite Lake is located on the famous Trout River system and has a large rapids flowing in and out of the lake, along with numerous feeder streams, making it a constant producer throughout the entire season. There are numerous islands, reefs, weed beds, and neck down areas to explore.
The lake produces excellent catches of walleye, northern pike, smallmouth bass, and lake trout. The walleye fishing is excellent for larger average sized fish in the 20-25" range with eater sized fish being mixed in with trophies topping out in the 30" class. These great eating fish can be found in the moving water, on the many rock reefs, along weed lines, and in the neck down areas where there is current. The lake offers an excellent population of northern pike with most pike running in the 4-8# range and topping out over 20#. These freshwater sharks can be found in the many weed beds and around the moving water on the lake feeding on the walleyes.
Sakwite Lake has an outstanding population of smallmouth bass to test your tackle. The smallmouth bass run in the 2-4 # class with trophies topping out over 5#. These hard fighting fish can be found just about anywhere, especially in the fast water and on the many reefs and boulder piles around the lake. It produces some of the best numbers of smallmouth caught anywhere. The lake trout can be found in the deep haunts of the lake and can be a blast to catch. The lake trout on Sakwite Lake average 3-6# with some pushing over 15#. You're not likely to spend a lot of time inside when you're at one of our fly-in outpost cabins, but it's nice to know that when you do, the facilities are clean and comfortable. All of our fly-in outpost camps have Honda generators, solar powered lights with hot and cold running water. The Sakwite Lake cabin is equipped with a Honda generator, electric fridge, chest freezer, fluorescent lighting, all pots, pans, cooking and eating utensils, large propane BBQ, fish cooker, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, box fans, back up solar lighting, additional outlets to charge electronics, and hot and cold running water.
