Our remote fly in outpost cabin on Dogfly Lake is centrally located on the lake, so you never have far to go to your favorite fishing spot. This brand new large deluxe outpost cabin is the next generation of outpost adventures. It will make you forget what roughing it is all about with all the space and comforts of home. Dogfly Lake is a cold, clear, larger body of water.
The smallmouth bass fishing is world class and second to none. The smallmouth bass average in the 2-4# range, with some guests reporting fish in the 6# class being caught and released each season. There is every type of structure for these hard fighting smallmouth bass to relate to. There are many deep water reefs, rock bars, weed beds, and down timber for the smallmouth to hide, as well as a few flowages of water coming into the lake. These are also home to the trophy pike lurking in Dogfly's water.
The northern pike run in the 4-8# class with 20#+ fish being caught and released each year. The serious pike fisherman will enjoy seeing these monsters explode on their baits in the clear water. In the summer months, working the deeper rock points and the edge of the deeper weed beds prove to be very productive.
The lake trout fishing is some of the best that Northwestern Ontario has to offer. The deep cold water of Dogfly supports an excellent population of lakers in the 5-10# range with trout over 20# being caught. These exceptional fighters can be caught all season long by jigging and trolling. The lake trout fishing in the early spring and late fall can be an excellent experience as they are closer to the surface and can be caught on lighter tackle in very high numbers. The lake trout also make excellent table fare.
If that isn't enough, there is also a boat on Bretz Lake that offers more spectacular smallmouth bass, northern pike, and lake trout action. Deposits used can not exceed the number of guests in the group and are non refundable and non transferrable. All cabins have a minimum size group requirement, if your party size does not meet the minimum group size, your group will still be responsible to pay for the minimum required group.

You're not likely to spend a lot of time inside when you're at one of our fly-in outpost cabins, but it's nice to know that when you do, the facilities are clean and comfortable. The Dogfly Lake cabin is equipped with a Honda generator, electric fridge, chest freezer, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, LED lighting, box fans, all pots, pans, cooking and eating utensils, large propane BBQ, fish cooker, additional outlets to charge electronics, hot and cold running water, and shower. The cabin also features a large 8'x24' screened in porch and covered BBQ cooking station. The fish cleaning shed is equipped with electricity and running water.
